The NABJHS Prospect Steer Drive is your opportunity to own a quality prospect steer while supporting the next generation of Australia's beef industry.

Thanks to the generosity of ten leading seedstock breeders from across Australia, 10 successful entrants will each receive a quality weaned prospect steer, with an estimated combined prize pool value of $15,000.

Unlike a traditional giveaway, successful entrants choose their preferred participating breeder in the order their entry is selected before working directly with that breeder to select their steer.

You Don't Have to Show Your Steer

Whether you're an experienced exhibitor or you've never owned cattle before, the Prospect Steer Drive is for everyone.

There is absolutely no requirement to exhibit your steer.

You might choose to:

• Show it at major steer competitions.
• Learn from one of Australia's leading seedstock breeders.
• Raise it on your property.
• Keep it as a paddock companion.
• Finish it for your freezer.

What you do with your steer is completely your choice.

For those who would like to compete, the NABJHS Prospect Steer Performance Incentive offers additional cash rewards for success at eligible major steer competitions. Participation is entirely optional.

Every Entry Creates Opportunities

Every entry purchased directly supports the National All Breeds Junior Heifer Show and helps create opportunities for young Australians aged 5 to 25 years through education, leadership development and industry experiences.

Because the greatest prize isn't just the steer.

It's the opportunities created and the community built along the way.

Successful entrants will choose their preferred breeder in selection order before arranging collection directly with the breeder. Transport from the breeder's property is the responsibility of the successful entrant.

How It Works

1. Purchase your entries online.
2. If your entry is selected, you do not need to be at the event. If you're not attending, an NABJHS Committee member will call you immediately after your entry is selected in accordance with the Terms & Conditions.
3. Successful entrants choose their preferred participating breeder in the order their entry is selected.
4. NABJHS will introduce you to your chosen breeder after the event.
5. You'll work directly with your breeder to select and arrange collection of your prospect steer.
6. Transport from the breeder's property is the responsibility of the successful entrant.

Important: If you're not attending the event, please keep your phone nearby during the Prospect Steer Drive. Successful entrants who do not answer the telephone call will be dealt with in accordance with the 2026 NABJHS Prospect Steer Drive Terms & Conditions.
