• Entries close: 8:00pm AEST, Saturday 5 September 2026
• Selection: 8:30pm AEST, Saturday 5 September 2026 at the NABJHS Big Beef Dinner, Blayney NSW.
• You do not need to be present. If you're not attending, an NABJHS Committee member will contact you by phone immediately after your entry is selected in accordance with the Terms & Conditions.
• Successful entrants will choose their preferred donating breeder in the order their entry is selected before working directly with the breeder to select their prospect steer.
• Successful entrants are responsible for arranging collection and transport from the breeder's property.

The NABJHS Prospect Steer Drive is your opportunity to own a quality prospect steer while supporting the next generation of Australia's beef industry.

Thanks to the generosity of ten leading Australian seedstock breeders, 10 successful entrants will each receive a quality weaned prospect steer, with a combined estimated prize pool value of approximately $15,000.

Unlike a traditional giveaway, successful entrants choose their preferred donating breeder in the order their entry is selected before working directly with that breeder to select their prospect steer.

You Don't Have to Show Your Steer

One of the best parts about the Prospect Steer Drive is that there is absolutely no requirement to exhibit your steer.

Whether you choose to:

• Compete at major steer competitions.
• Learn from one of Australia's leading seedstock breeders.
• Raise it at home.
• Keep it as a paddock companion.
• Or simply fill your freezer.

What you do with your steer is completely your choice.

For those who do decide to compete, the optional NABJHS Prospect Steer Performance Incentive rewards success at eligible major steer competitions across Australia.
