Applications are now open for the NABJHS Internship. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work alongside the president and coordinator, gaining hands-on experience in the back-end operations and event organization of the National All Breeds Junior Heifer Show.

Internship Details

Purpose:

This internship aims to provide the selected candidate with an immersive experience in the event organization and behind-the-scenes operations of the NABJHS. Interns will work closely with the president and coordinator, gaining practical insights into event logistics, participant engagement, and industry partnership development. The internship also includes an opportunity for the candidate to represent NABJHS for 12 months and entry to 1 Junior show in Australia. 

Main Focus of the Internship:

  • Support event planning and coordination activities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for participant engagement.
  • Contribute to communications and outreach efforts to enhance brand recognition.
  • Work on building relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.

Award and Value of the Internship:

  • One (1) internship position will be awarded annually during the National All Breeds Junior Heifer Show.
  • Opportunity to gain hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced professionals in the industry.
  • Networking opportunities with industry leaders and key stakeholders.
  • $500 reimbursement towards entry fees for one heifer show in 2025.

Eligibility for the Internship:

An applicant is eligible if they:

  • Are aged 18-25.
  • Have a keen interest in the Australian cattle industry and event management.
  • Are available to commit to the internship from September 2024 to September 2025.
  • Submit an application, including a 2-minute video, to the NABJHS committee by Thursday, August 15th, 2024.
  • Participate in an interview with committee members during the 2024 NABJHS event.

Conditions for the Internship:

  • Interns are expected to demonstrate integrity, respect, and positive morale as representatives of the NABJHS.
  • The successful applicant must submit travel costs up to the value of $500 for reimbursement by August 1st, 2025.
  • The internship award is non-transferable, and travel funds can only be redeemed upon submission of proof of expenses to nabjhs@gmail.com.
